Bah no time to sit down and write, but when I was younger that was one of my favorite prompts from teachers. One time a teacher showed us an entire collection of illustrations with one line captions, and for each we had to write a story. Probably still my best stuff to this day, even though I was 10 ish haha! Looking forward to more updates soon!

Gawad Kalinga spreads the spirit of positive change and transformation not only in the Philippines, but all over the world. It has served as an inspiration for other charitable organizations to intensify their efforts towards massive volunteerism and to execute programs to alleviate the living conditions of the poor.

Thanks Prongs for all the compliments and for your thoughts on William! (I feel as though, in the future, Will may very well be like an older man who has gladly settled into a quiet life.) =)

Names and symbols have always been fascinating, and, early on in middle school, when I learned how much more they can add to a character and a story, I fell in love them. When I would meet people who didn't agree with the value I put in character-naming (or just plain naming), I would think: Wasn't there a time, a culture, in which people named others like "He Who Is Like The Wind"? Weren't there some parents who waited days, months, or years before they would name a child--just for the right name? Even now, I meet people who say, "Doesn't Caitlyn seem more like a Sara to you?"

Many unconsciously put a lot of value in names. Why can't stories?

I too believe names can make or break a character. It is their identity. The names definite them. And, sometimes, they can define the names.

Thanks again Prongs! I'm so glad you could stop by and add your input. Hope to see you again!

P.S.,
I still love looking up meanings. Not only do I visit Behind the Name and other sites, but I bought the Penguin Dictionary of Symbols. I love looking through them.

What a fascinating blog post! This is one of the most unique blog topics I have seen in quite some time so seriously kudos for such a brain teaser.

Possibly because I just same off of Faulkner but I get the sense of yes either a boy beyond his years or an older man who is probably southern and has settled very nicley into his quiet life.

I am HUGE on subtext/meanings behind names and symbols so for me it is always so interesting to learn why a particular name was chosen for a character. When I was in high school I used to always try and find names for short story characters that had a direct correlation between their plot choices and their names. It was always a good time hunting down the perfect name which can def. make or break a character in my opinion!
Congrats on how nicley your blog is coming together keep up the great work!

I just had a look around your website, and I'm kind of excited about seeing more for you. (Except I am now wiping my eyes and thinking about eyeball worms.)

I was wondering if you'd like to join Uninvoked's writing forums. It seems like you have a great grip on writing and there is so much you could share with us. I've been dashing around Wordpress looking at people I'd ideally pick as core members of my forum, and trust me, I pick you.

The link is here if you want to give it a go:
